Course Description

Diploma of Community Services (CHC52025) will develop skills in community services, case management and crisis enabling the student to manage, coordinate and deliver person-centred support services to individuals, groups and communities. Whether your passion lies in advocating for social justice or supporting vulnerable individuals and communities, this diploma sets the stage for a rewarding career in community services.

International applicants must be 18 years or older and have:

Year 11 or equivalent certificate of senior secondary education.
IELTS 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0) or equivalent. (If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course can be organised).

Students are required to complete 2 blocks of work-based training of 200 hours. Work-based placement is compulsory providing practical skills and fostering the confidence and competence needed to excel in the field of community services.
Skills Training Australasia has an extensive list of industry partners and will organise the practical placements for all students within Metropolitan Melbourne. A current and satisfactory Police Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS number are mandatory and a copy must be provided to Skills Training Australasia prior to commencing placement. If students do not have these documents, we will assist students to apply for this during the first term of the course. It is also mandatory to have an annual Influenza and Covid-19 vaccination prior to placement in an Community Services setting. Students will be required to provide evidence of this.
